Today at Enrich

Today for ICT talent development Grace and I programmed our robot so that it would follow the line and swing at a ball. It's really cool and it took forever. When you thought you had it you just downloaded it on to the robot then tried it out. It was more trial and error than anything else, it took a lot of problem solving to get it right!

Today I also went to Gifted Profiling with Alana. We went over profiles five and six. I was most like profile six because I highlighted everything! I also highlighted a few things in  profile five!!

Gifted Awareness Week

This week is "Gifted Awareness Week". What I think it means to be gifted and come to Enrich is... being gifted is where you're not perfect but you are above average at something like I'm not very good at writing but I'm good at maths and reading and also spelling. Coming to Enrich is really special because here I fit in and at school if someone gets a better score than me they say "now I'm the smartest in the class."but when we come here we don't do specific subjects like reading ,writing ,spelling and maths we still do that stuff just in a different way. Also at enrich we have self management which is where we do what we need to do in our own time. Something else there is is Renzulli's model of giftedness which is three rings interlocking with the three words Task Commitment, above Average  Ability and creativity. There is another model which was invented by Gange. He says that you start out with natural ability then chance and the environment  affect how your gifts develop. Also then there is the development process itself then the skills that are developed in the end . Gange's is the top one and Renzulli's is on the bottom.

Scratch

Today and last week during ICT talent development with Alana we watched tutorials from YouTube on the computer programme Scratch.  We learned how to make a Sprite (a character on Scratch), by making four circles, a few lines and colour.

Here is a copy of my robot sprite:
